Man, it's been a hot one--and we don't just mean the summer weather here in North America. It's also been a summer of hot horror releases for Archie Comics. If you haven't been able to keep up with all the news don't worry, we won't punish you too badly. But don't let it happen again... in the meantime, here's a roundup of some news on some of our biggest horror titles:
Archie Comics: Judgment Day
This past July saw the epic conclusion to Archie's first-ever Premium Event miniseries, Archie Comics: Judgment Day!
Ahead of issue three's release, Screen Rant gave fans an exclusive sneak peek at the new demonic designs of Betty and Veronica.
Comic Book Resources did a deep dive on the history of Alistair, who is given form as a demon in Judgment Day, but has a rich background in Archie Comics lore.
Lastly, Judgment Day's amazing artist Megan Hutchison spoke to with AIPT Comics about her process of creating her nightmare-fuel designs.
Truth or Dare
The sexy, psychological thriller Truth or Dare also saw its release last month.
Bloody Disgusting had a special sneak peek at this '00s inspired horror one-shot.
And writer Ron Robbins spoke with Comic Book Club Live about what it was like to write Trula Twyst, and making the transition from writing classic comics to horror comics.
Kardak the Mystic
Our most recent magical one-shot, Kardak the Mystic, was released in comic shops everywhere this week.
Comicon spoke with writer Joe Corallo and artist Butch Mapa about re-introducing this classic character to modern audiences.
Macabre Daily also spotlighted Kardak the Mystic ahead of its release, along with a sneak peek at interior art.
And Joe Corallo and Butch Mapa also appeared as guests on Comic Book Live to talk all things Kardak.
Butch Mapa also spoke to AIPT about his design work on Kardak the Mystic, explaining his process behind creating the beautiful interior art.
Finally, Senior Director of Editorial Jamie L. Rotante returned with her regular "Archie's House of Horror" column for Daily Dead, discussing Kardak and the horrors of learning the secrets of magic acts.
